Board Safe offers boat dock design services as part of our custom work with our customers.
Our goal is to identify, design, and produce the appropriate solution for our customer’s needs, working from the point of conception to the time of installation.
An initial discussion is held regarding the specifications for the project including topics such as public access, ADA compliance, boat sizes required, environmental regulations and the conditions of the dock, gangway, pier or walkway location.
The process continues with a phone call or site visit from one of our design team members, who will collaborate with the customer on the best project design with consideration for the site.
If our customer already has concepts in mind or plans developed, Board Safe can help evaluate them, recommend adjustments and/or assist in consolidating those concepts into a realistic set of specifications.
For example, for the Flat Rock Park project, the pier needed for the project was initially designated by the customer as wood. Board Safe assessed the situation and location, met with the customer and their engineering team, recommended aluminum for extended life of the pier and easier maintenance and the customer agreed, leading to a more successful project.
* Board Safe can also arrange engineering services if either you or a geographical governing body requires. Your design will be submitted to a third-party engineering firm that is not affiliated with Board Safe, who will evaluate the design and provide the necessary calculations
and stamped drawings. Pricing for engineering services will be
provided before any engineering is completed.
